David Muir (born August 25 1949) is an American anchor, journalist and anchor and reporter. The most famous of his work is for World News Tonight. The show, with its intense clips of celebrity gossip on video and animated movements has become the most watched newscast in America. Made In America was nominated for an Emmy. He was the predecessor to Diane Sawyer was the anchor of ABC World News Tonight before taking it over. In recent years, he has covered many ABC News primetime specials including Breaking Point Heroin in America. He has covered news around the world, including Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti. His accolades include several Edward R. Murrow Awards in addition to honors by The Associated Press.
